Burbank Aero Crossings is located within the City of Burbank’s primary commercial, employment and transit district, transforming the 10+ acre former Fry’s Electronics store into a thriving residential and mixed-use community. The development is to include 862 units of housing (80 of which will be designated as affordable and 12 of which will be designated as live-work units), a 151,000-square-foot office building, and 9,700 square feet of retail, planned for grocery use. The project received approvals from the Burbank City Council in November 2021 and construction is anticipated to commence in 2023.

Project amenities split over the two residential buildings include rooftop decks with swimming pools, cabanas, and outdoor fireplaces, indoor/outdoor co-working spaces, indoor/outdoor fitness centers, pet amenities, content creation rooms, and more. Designed by Urban Architecture Labs, with TCA Architects serving as the production architect, the project has been designed to achieve LEED Gold standard.

Burbank, California, dubbed the “Media Capital of the World,” is home to the global headquarters of Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, Netflix Animation, and Nickelodeon Animation, amongst others. Despite the number of employees these companies represent, Burbank is experiencing a housing shortage with approximately 150,000 jobs and housing for roughly 40,000 households or 3.5 jobs per house, the highest jobs to housing ratio in California.

The project is located immediately adjacent to both the Hollywood Burbank Metrolink Station and the Hollywood Burbank Airport which welcomes 3.7 million passengers annually and was ranked #1 in the country by Fodor’s Travel Guide in 2019.
